                                                                                    Student Information Requirements:

 

Students will be accepted into the program at an age of 14 years and 9 months for the 8-hour classroom session; however, no student will be allowed to operate a motor vehicle until they have turned 15 years old and have their permit. A requirement by the Department of Motor Vehicles and the Law states that students must have in their possession while driving, any corrective lenses.

Tuition and Fees: The fee for the 14 hours of instruction is $290.00. This includes an 8-hour classroom session and 6 hours of driving.  If a student does not show for their driving session they will be rescheduled and subjected to a $25.00 rescheduling fee. Any applicable rescheduling fee must be paid prior to the student being rescheduled. All fees must be paid in full prior to receiving a driving certificate. There will be a $35.00 service fee for any returned checks.

Schedule of Fees:

$80.00 for the 8 hours of classroom instruction

$35.00 per hour for Behind-the-Wheel (6 hours of Behind-the-Wheel required by the DMV)

$45.00 per hour for Behind-the-Wheel for students who do not take the classroom instructions

 Any additional driving hours needed (6 required by the DMV) will be an extra charge of $45.00 per hour with 2 hours minimum

Refunds:  After completion of the 8-hour classroom instruction, students are not eligible for a refund. However, a prorated refund may be given for any remaining behind-the-wheel instruction.

Course Certificate: Students who successfully complete the 14 hours of instruction offered by O’Brien’s Driving School will receive a certificate from the school that will entitle you to receive a discount from your insurance carrier. Each successful completer of the course will receive a signed PDLA form which is the South Carolina of Motor vehicles form you must have to test for your restricted licenses if under 17 years of age.

I will put forth the effort it takes to become a safe driver. I understand the importance and commitment I and my parents are making for me to become licensed to operate a motor vehicle. I will put forth the effort to practice the driving skills needed to become a good, safe driver. I will be respectful of my instructors at O’Brien’s Driving School both in the classroom and behind the wheel. I will be respectful of my fellow students and myself at all times while at O’Brien’s Driving School.
